Sensex, Nifty open on a positive note

 

Indian equity indices today opened on a positive note crossing 34,000 mark, while Nifty was above 10,600 levels.

Sensex was higher by 150 points at 34,392 , While Nifty was up by 1 points at 10,624.

The S&P BSE Mid-cap and small cap index was up by 1%.

Coal India, Tata Motors, Tata Steel were the major gainers, while Wipro, Bajaj Auto, ICICI Bank were the major losers.

Shares of NMDC Ltd was lower by 4% at Rs. 155. The company announced that the government is selling up to 4,74,58,357 shares to non-retail Investors and retail investors. The floor price of the offer shall be Rs. 153.50 per share.
