Car sales surge on festive season demand

In regards to festive season purchases, the auto industry have
registered better growth in September 2017,

The auto industry produced a total 14,675,828 vehicles including
passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, three wheelers, two-wheelers and quadricycle in April-September 2017 as against 13,441,520 in  April-September 2016, registering a growth of 9.18% over the same period last year, according to SIAM data.

The Passenger Vehicles surged by 9.16% in April-September 2017, while  Passenger Cars, Utility Vehicle and Vans gained by 6.63%, 17.81 percent and 2.52 percent respectively in April-September 2017 over the
same period last year.

SIAM data says that the overall Commercial Vehicles segment gone up by 5.96% in April-September 2017.

In April-September 2017, the overall automobile exports grew by
10.71%.

Maruti Suzuki India Limited sold a total of 163,071 units in September 2017, growing 9.3% over the same period of last fiscal.

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd announced its auto sales performance for September 2017 which stood at 53,663 vehicles, compared to 46130 vehicles during September 2016, representing a growth of 16%.
