Nifty ends above 10,600 levels

Indian equity indices ended on a positive note crossing 34,000 mark, while Nifty was above 10,623 levels.

Sensex ended higher by 198 points at 34,352 , While Nifty was up by 64 points at 10,611.

The S&P BSE Mid-cap and small cap index ended up by 1%.

Coal India, Sun Pharma and Infosys were the major gainers, while Bharti Airtel, ONGC and SBI were the major losers.

Shares of Jindal Steel & Power Ltd closed higher 7% at Rs.257.Report says that the company will raise Rs 1,000 crore through qualified institutional placement (QIP) route in February, its chairman Naveen Jindal said.
